How to Prepare for the Best Valentine’s Day Ever

  • 2 min reading time

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and I have a few quick tips and steps to help you make it the best it can be. Whether you’re planning a special day for your girlfriend or boyfriend, these suggestions will ensure a memorable celebration.

1. Dress to Impress

First, if you’re taking out your significant other, make sure you dress appropriately. On Valentine’s Day, wearing red is a classic choice. A red polo, like the one I’m wearing, works well for any occasion.

2. Perfect Your Hair

Next, let’s focus on your hair. I recommend using Double Hitter by Mitch, a gel that gives your hair a sleek look. Apply a generous amount and thoroughly work it through your hair. For a polished appearance, push your hair to one side.

3. Create a Homemade Valentine’s Day Card

Now that your appearance is sorted, it’s time to work on a Valentine’s Day card. I prefer making mine homemade. If you don’t have red construction paper, orange will do. To create a heart, draw half of a heart on the paper and then cut it out.

Fill the heart with a meaningful message, such as “Erica, I love you.” Next, decorate your heart. Use pink paint and apply it with a rolled-up piece of paper if you don’t have a paintbrush. Sprinkle some decorative sand and add heart-shaped styrofoam pieces. If you don’t have glue, paint can work as an adhesive. Personalize it further with words like “mine.”

4. Add a Keychain Feature

I like to add string to my projects so they can be used as keychains. Poke a hole through the card with scissors and thread the string through. This way, it can be worn as a bracelet, earrings, or attached to a lanyard.

5. Go Big with a Second Present

For a second present, think big. I got one of the largest teddy bears I could find. I also found a Vera Bradley purse, which I’ll put in a bag and wrap. I like to use High School Musical wrapping paper. Wrap it tightly so the contents remain a surprise. Add a bow for a nice finishing touch.

6. Consider a Wearable Gift

Another gift idea is something to wear. I got my girlfriend a nice red dress with a little jacket. I actually found this in my mom’s closet, so it was inexpensive but still looks nice.

7. Don’t Forget the Candy

Finally, the most important part of Valentine’s Day is the candy. I got my girlfriend some of her favorites: original bagel crisps, raisins, and mini marshmallows. All of these can be purchased at your local market.

Thank you for reading my guide on how to make a Happy Valentine’s Day. I hope you all have the best Valentine’s Day ever!
